The Mughal Empire began to rise in 1483 with Babur ruling until 1530. He began ruling in a small kingdom in Turkestan, he expanded his kingdom by attacking Afghanistan and capturing Kabul in 1504. By the time he died in 1530 he conquered all of Hindustan and controlled the empire that extended from Hindustan until Deccan. Besides Babur there were 3 other great rulers after him including Jehangir, Shajahan, and Aurangzeb. During Akbar's rule from 1556-1605 things changed, he developed a theory of kingship and abolished special tax. After Akabar's 49 year rein that laid the foundation of the empire, his 13 year old son regained his territories. The decline of the empire began in 1707 once Aurangzeb died, his death marked the end of that era in history. Within 50 years of his death the empire declined. His death led to a war between his 3 sons. It ended in victory of his eldest son who ruled from 1707-1712 during this time the Sikhs became more powerful and faced revolt ending his rule.
